Frequently Asked Questions

Platform

ClearLine is workflow and records software for gas gathering operators. It connects pipeline assets and operational workflows to the field work performed on them, the review that follows, the findings that come out of it, the corrective work assigned, and the verification that closes it out, with source linked evidence throughout. ClearLine started deeply in cathodic protection and is expanding across broader gathering operations.

Yes. ClearLine can organize an operator selected record set around original source traceability, complementary supporting documentation, source links, asset and segment relationships, source differences, finalization details, Review Items, and documented operator decisions.

A Finding is a tracked operational follow up item, created when field review surfaces something that needs corrective work. Findings carry status, ownership, corrective action history, and verification of closure.

A Review Item is a tracked question about evidence or documentation, created when records are missing, sources conflict, a value cannot be traced to a source, or an operator flags an open question during workspace review. Review Items are distinct from Findings, which track operational follow up on field conditions.

ClearLine currently supports cathodic protection field data and survey records, pressure test records, and MAOP supporting records, along with historical asset records. Each workspace is configured around the operator's assets, terminology, and record categories. Additional record types are scoped with the operator before work begins.

No. ClearLine is designed to work alongside existing systems using operator approved exports, documents, and supporting records. The initial scope is read only and does not require changes to existing production systems.

Yes. Each workspace is configured around the operator's specific assets, segment identifiers, record types, and terminology. ClearLine does not impose a standard taxonomy; scope and structure are agreed with the operator before work begins.

Intelligence

ClearLine Intelligence searches the operator approved workspace and returns source linked responses that users can verify against the original records. Responses identify the supporting record, a link to the source, and any related Review Items. Results must be verified against the original source records before reliance.

Every response includes the answer or observation, the supporting record, a link to the original record, related Review Items, and conflicting information when present.

Generic document search returns matching files or passages. ClearLine Intelligence operates within a structured operator workspace: it identifies supporting records, surfaces related Review Items, preserves conflicting information for operator review, and keeps qualified operator personnel responsible for verification and decisions.

No. ClearLine Intelligence is limited to the approved operator workspace. It does not access external sources, public records, or information outside the defined scope.

ClearLine flags value conflicts and data inconsistencies as Review Items for operator review. The operator, not ClearLine, determines which record is authoritative and documents the resolution. Conflicting information is surfaced for review; it is not resolved automatically.

Security and confidentiality

Access to operator workspaces is controlled and scoped to designated personnel. A mutual NDA is available before any records are shared. ClearLine does not use operator records outside the agreed scope. Specific access controls and data handling terms are discussed during the scoping process.

Yes. A mutual NDA is available before any records or confidential information are shared.

No. ClearLine operates from operator approved exports and records provided under a scoped engagement. Initial access is read only and does not require connection to existing operational systems.

Access is scoped to designated personnel agreed during the engagement. ClearLine does not share or transfer operator records outside the defined scope.

ClearLine's approach to scope and access, data handling, record processing, and operational safeguards is described on the Security & Data Handling page.

Implementation

A defined scope and an approved set of records or exports. ClearLine works from operator-provided documents, structured exports, shared drives, or other approved sources. No access to production systems is required. The scope (which assets, record types, and segments) is agreed before work begins.

Yes. ClearLine is designed to accept operator approved exports and supporting records from existing platforms and systems. No production system access or direct integration is required. Mapping is reviewed with operator personnel before use.

Original records are indexed and organized within the approved workspace. ClearLine does not modify source documents. Where records are received electronically, they remain available for operator review and can be cited directly from any displayed value.

ClearLine can begin with operator approved exports, documents, and supporting records from a range of sources: PDFs and drawings, spreadsheets and structured exports, GIS exports, shared drive folders, historical documents, contractor deliverables, existing platform exports, and operator defined datasets. Direct integrations and custom data transformations are scoped separately.

Limited Deployment and commercial

The most common starting point is a Limited Deployment: a 60 to 90 day evaluation on one defined workflow, set of segments, or operating scope. Scope, inputs, expected outputs, and success measures are agreed before any work begins. There is no platform fee during the evaluation.

A Limited Deployment is a 60 to 90 day evaluation engagement. ClearLine builds a working workspace on an operator defined scope so the operator can evaluate the platform on real operational work before committing to a broader deployment.

There is no platform fee during the Limited Deployment. Deployment pricing for continuing beyond the evaluation is discussed directly, based on the operator's assets and scope.

The operator decides whether to continue with an ongoing deployment, expand the scope, or close the evaluation. There is no automatic expansion or recurring commitment.

Product boundaries

No. ClearLine organizes records, identifies unresolved evidence questions, and supports operator review. Qualified operator personnel retain authority over all engineering, integrity, safety, MAOP, and regulatory-compliance determinations.

The operator. ClearLine organizes records and identifies unresolved questions; it does not make engineering, integrity, MAOP, or compliance determinations. Qualified operator personnel retain authority over all technical and regulatory decisions.

ClearLine does not make engineering, integrity, MAOP, regulatory, or compliance determinations. It does not resolve conflicts automatically. It does not search beyond the approved workspace. It does not replace operator verification of original source records.

No. ClearLine organizes and presents information supporting the review. The operator and its qualified personnel remain responsible for determining whether records are traceable, verifiable, and complete under the applicable requirements.

ClearLine organizes and presents information within an approved scope, traces every displayed value to its source, and surfaces unresolved questions as Review Items. Qualified operator personnel retain responsibility for engineering, integrity, regulatory, compliance, and operational determinations, and for verifying any information before reliance.
